In this live stream we're joined by Aaron Smith-Levin from  @Growing Up In Scientology ! We're talking all about the criminal and civil cases against the actor Danny Masterson. You might recognize Masterson from his role on That 70s Show. He's also a prominent member of the Church of Scientology. The civil case brought against Masterson also alleges acts by the Church of Scientology in retaliation against them for making their accusations, so there's much to cover! 

Aaron is a former member of the Church of Scientology, and his channel is dedicated to talking about what it's like growing up in it. He's been covering the Masterson cases closely in addition to other litigation involving prominent members of the Church of Scientology.

CONTEXT: 

Danny Masterson is an American actor and prominent member of the Church of Scientology. In February 2017, three women filed SA allegations against Masterson. This prompted the Los Angeles County Police Department (LAPD) to investigate. Within a year, Masterson was fired from his role in The Ranch and let go as a client from United Talent Agency. 

On August 22, 2019, four plaintiffs filed a civil lawsuit against Masterson and Scientology alleging various claims of stalking and harassment in retaliation for making the SA allegations. At the time of this live stream, that case is in front of the Supreme Court of the United States to determine whether the case can go to arbitration, a form of alternative dispute resolution. 

On June 17, 2020, Masterson was charged with three counts of r**e by force or fear. At the time of this live stream his case is set to go to trial on October 11, 2022.
