Want bad dating stories?
If you were born in the 20th Century, you may have been brought up with images from the media and bombarded with stories from other smokers about the supposed 'pleasures' of smoking. How it gives us confidence, it's healthy, has no bad effects. To have a cigarette was seen as a social status that is achievable for everyone and why not give in to it? After all films, commercials and music videos often featured our idols smoking cigarettes, smoking out of a tobacco pipe or even choking on cigars to be seen as suave gentlemen and gorgeous women to be. What was the media telling us? It was saying cigarettes are terrific and a necessity for our social lives.
Cigarettes and the trickery of marketing go hand in hand all the time. Even now with all the "sure fire" gimmicks of anti-smoking commercials whether it be gum, patches or sprays, we are led to believe that our social lives are the only reason why we will quit successfully.
On the other side of the same coin, if you were born in the past 40 years, you will know that society largely tells us now the horrors of smoking, how it's a filthy, disgusting "habit" that drains our bank accounts and kills us slowly. Yet no matter which messages we receive from concerned loved ones. Smoking is believed by us to still be enjoyable and a necessity just like the commercials from last century.
Even people who have never touched a cigarette believe smokers must get some type of pleasure from smoking, they confuse the horrors of nicotine addiction for genuine pleasures, the same way all smokers do.
Whether you were brainwashed from all the media hype surrounding cigarettes from the mid-1900's or confusing the 'pleasure' from other smokers, from the day you smoked your first cigarette, you yourself were led to believe cigarette smoking would induce genuine pleasures instead of implanting the seeds for the brainwashing nicotine demon to start spreading.
After falling into the nicotine trap, we are so brainwashed with believing we can only relax after a cigarette, that we can only concentrate on tasks or our jobs after a quick "smoke break" that why would we even begin to question the nicotine trap?
You may believe that this video series itself is another form of brainwashing and you're right to question this. Other forms of quit smoking programs use gimmicks to try and brainwash smokers into believing it's their fault for smoking and that it's ultimately up to them to quit but without giving them the information on what the nicotine trap is and how to escape it. I describe my method as informative and illusion shattering, in a sense, counter-brainwashing.
The brainwashing demon is the biggest demon and obstacle you'll face in your journey to quit smoking. The chemical addiction from nicotine without the knowledge of the nicotine trap makes it exponentially harder to escape and quit successfully and permanently. You are already halfway to destroying the brainwashing demon and by the end of the series you'll know how to escape the nicotine trap. So what is the next piece of crucial information you need to destroy the brainwashing demon? Let's discuss the illusion of confidence in the next video.
