#12: Black Books — Watching Dylan Moran and Graham Linehan's Forgotten Sitcom
Description
After rewatching THE IT CROWD, Sam and Natalia look back at Dylan Moran and Graham Linehan's sitcom, BLACK BOOKS.
BLACK BOOKS is a British sitcom created by Dylan Moran and Graham Linehan, starring Moran as Bernard Black, Bill Bailey as Manny Bianco, and Tamsin Greig as Fran Katzenjammer. The series, set in the eponymous London bookshop, follows a grouchy and misanthropic shopkeeper after he gains a new employee. BLACK BOOKS ran for three series (eighteen episodes) from 2000 to 2004.
Topics of conversation include memes, ITV's PLAYING NICE and that "Theo!" advert, following private Instagram accounts, experimental and surreal humour, Basil Fawlty, travelling to Dublin, the set of NORMAL PEOPLE, unreleased pilot episodes, Collinge & Clark, and all these actors: Nick Frost, David Walliams, Rob Brydon, Jessica Hynes, Simon Pegg, Olivia Coleman, Lucy Davis, Alice Lowe, and Peter Serafinowicz (yes, really, they're all in this!).
