been an avid bow hunter since '98. I hung it up 4 years ago because of the massive explosion of hunter numbers. go 10 miles deep in the backcountry and dipshits are everywhere trying to bugle and chasing off game. no mas aqui

I wonder if these two have seen the game changers? I love will game meat but plant based with some meat isn't a bad way to live.

I hunted as a kid, but never did like it all that much. At some point in this podcast they suggested that there is a sane rationale for trophy hunting, but didn't elaborate. I'd love to hear it. I have a good friend who's 70 now and a true mountain man. He doesn't hunt but is a world class fly fisherman. He lives in the high Rockies and has fished a high proportion of the country's best trout streams. He's also a nationally known botanist. He sent me a photo recently that I thought really captured his essence. He had a .44 magnum on his hip (grizzly country) and a hand lens hanging around his neck. He was standing in front of a sedge meadow with the Tetons in the background. Although Joe and his pal claimed the kill isn't the point, I am suspicious. Their descriptions of the hunt sound so incredibly macho I imagine them getting boners every time they kill a trophy buck. It doesn't need to be a trophy to feed them pretty well. Everything they describe can be accomplished (except hauling out the carcass) by carrying a camera and bringing out really good wildlife pics or discovering a rare plant species. They should carefully examine their real motivations.

I wake up at 4 30 every day and work the whole day. must be nice to be a yuppie. can't afford to. Be taken on a hunting trip. my father put deer on the table out of necessity. so I learned to hunt and gather for sustenance.. when you are hungry you will shoot a rabbit and pull veggies for a good meal
