This week’s guest is neuroscientist + neurophysiologist, Louisa Nicola.

At the young age of 15, Louisa became a competitive swimmer who went on to win her first triathlon at the age of 17. Recognizing her innate gift of athleticism + love for competitive sports, she became immersed in the science behind physical optimization.

In 2011, Louisa was tragically hit by a car, forcing her to forfeit her title. Like the resilient woman that she is, she got back up + turned her incredible challenge into her passion + life’s work. 

When her coach profoundly said to her, “if you want to get back on the bike, it’s going to be through the brain,” Louisa instantly realized how significant the brain was for human potential + athleticism.

Today, she shares her extensive research as the founder of Neuro Athletics + host of one of the top 100 podcasts dedicated to neuroscience, neurology, and longevity, The Neuro Experience (one of my personal favorites).

Louisa works with elite-level athletes + sports organizations around the world.  She is a trusted source in the world of sport, on learning the ways at which one can turn their BEST into BETTER by leaning into the optimization of brain health + performance.
