161: Christmas drinks with Dan Lloyd
December 23 | Our 161st and final free-to-air episode of 2018 is a twist on the semi-regular Lunch With series. Join Lionel Birnie for Christmas drinks with Dan Lloyd.
Lionel met Dan at the Dancing Man Brewery in Southampton for a beer, a bite to eat and a conversation about his life and career. Okay, these were early Christmas drinks – recorded in mid-November but the Christmas decorations were up.
Dan started cycling riding a mountain bike, switched to the road and made steady progress towards a professional career at the very top level. He rode the Giro d'Italia and Tour de France for Cervélo but many people now will know him as one of the lead presenters on Global Cycling Network.
Also in this episode we thank everyone who has helped us on The Cycling Podcast this year. From producers to sponsors and everyone else who contributes in some way to keeping podcast show on the road, we are very grateful. Most of all, thank you to our listeners. We wish you all a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.
The Cycling Podcast will return on New Year's Day with the seventh – bonus – episode of the Explore series before regular coverage of professional cycling resumes in early January.
