17) Movie Review: Prey (2022) – A period piece, with a Predator
Description
The people have spoken, and a studio has listened! We wanted a Predator movie with a simplified plot, in the jungle, with Arnie, no cities or Aliens. Well, Schwarzenegger may have hung up the machete, but a Comanche tribe takes over and delivers with a love letter to the original while also standing on its own two feet.
Nick tackles the ins and outs of why this Predator movie surpasses its fellow sequels (don’t put it in a city, duh) and the power of great story telling and enthralling action scenes. Of course, the bigger discussions are why there was no cinema release, where a next instalment might go, and Star Wars references?
