The premise of the book is that a singularity is fast approaching, which is a point where a computer will be able to improve upon itself, vastly accelerating its optimization by orders of magnitude. We discuss the vital ideas we think are missing from this view, as well as why this is one of the fundamental motivations for the Davos crowd to push forward their transhumanist agenda.
