The Gospel of Jesus is nothing but the continuation of the story of Exodus. In fact, it is the culmination of the exodus. Jesus is the climax of the story of God’s covenant with Israel. In this passage from the Gospel of Mark, we see how John the Baptist is the fulfilment of ancient prophecies as he prepares the way for the Messiah.
