Today’s word is: incline. Would you like to know what it means? It means: willing to do something, have a tendency to do something, to slope at an angle, to nod the head or bend the body.

The word incline means to be agreeable to do something or a slope or a movement of the head or bending the body.


For example: Ashish was always inclined towards joining politics from a young age.

Example number 1 of 8:  The factory management is not inclined to hire more workers on company payroll. Instead, it prefers to give the work to an external contractor.


Example number 2 of 8:  There has been a significant rise in people changing residence frequently. Therefore, people are inclined to take furniture on rent instead of purchasing it.


Example number 3 of 8:  The witness in a court had just recovered from a grave illness. She spoke very softly and the judge had to incline forward to be able to hear her.


Example number 4 of 8:  Mayur was training under his father who was an eminent sitar player. However, soon it was clear that Mayur was more inclined towards singing. Therefore, he was enrolled in an academy for singing.


Example number 5 of 8: Thomas dropped out of the college because he was unable to follow the classroom learning. He was always more inclined towards becoming an entrepreneur and he started his own website for door step delivery of consumer products. 


Example number 6 of 8:  The survey by the monetary committee of the government concluded that certain sections of the society are more inclined to engage in cash transactions. Therefore, it also suggested a framework to inculcate the culture of digital money payments.


Example number 7 of 8:  The management arranged a visit of a Korean businessman to their research and development centre. When they were introduced to him, he greeted everyone with an incline of his head and requested the interpreter to facilitate a conversation with the staff.


Example number 8 of 8: Aparna’s mother observed that she had an inclination to avoid physically challenging tasks. To overcome this problem, her mother enrolled Aparna for a short course in in a paramilitary training school which trained her to engage in rigorous physical activities.
