The Birkbeck Institute for the Humanities presents:

2019 London Critical Theory Summer School – Friday Debate II

Speakers: Eyal Weizman, Stephen Frosh, Jacqueline Rose, Esther Leslie

Chair: Oscar Guardiola-Rivera

The Birkbeck Institute for the Humanities’ annual London Critical Theory Summer School is taking place over two weeks from 24th June – 5th July 2018.

The Summer School combines critical theoretical thought, at the most advanced level, with a sense of the political urgency of the times, an urgency that has so dramatically increased with the advent of Brexit and Trump, the massive global inequality to which they both attest and will exacerbate, the increasingly licensed ethno-nationalism, racism and misogyny which they sanction, the forms of historical forgetting which they appear to demand. This internationally renowned Summer School enables graduate students and academics to engage in a two-week course of day-time study with acclaimed critical thinkers. At the end of each week, these thinkers join together for a public panel discussion.
