Description
JOIN: WOMXN'S RUN FOR RECLAMATION COMMUNITY EVENT. JUNE 9TH - BERLIN
Mixed race women who were born and raised in cultures different from their family of origin often have complex and challenging relationships with their sense of self and ability to feel a true sense of belonging within the world around them.
We speak with Huda Dawes, London based Palestinian/Indian creative and founder of Pantry Tales - about her experience growing up mixed race in western society and how she's navigating reconnecting with her cultural roots.
Topics explored:
- Disconnect and loss of identity through immigration
- Navigating western spaces as mixed race women
- Parents that uphold colonial rhetoric
- Emotional labour when dating as women of colour
