I struggle with knowing what type of accountability is "fair" and "right" to hold a young, neurodivergent child to, without "pissing off" everyone for letting something so serious "slide."

I share this conversation in the hopes that it resonates with other parents who have had similar struggles, of themselves or their child getting vilified by the over-culture, and of struggles around how to do compassionate and appropriate accountability in an over-culture that over-couples accountability with punishment.
