I'm wondering whatever happened to that completely inept 911 operator? I hope he at the very least lost his job! It was both irritating and maddening as hell to listen to his stupidity and inaction and lack of realization of the emergency that was happening. What a tool.

having been in an abusive relationship, luckily i had the common sense to get out of it. But besides the controlling aspect of my bf at the time, they play the victim, they threaten to kill themselves and you, they have all this knowledge of everything... but it comes down to the point of knowing when to leave (which should be ASAP of any warning signs - they're text book) and having the confidence and courage to do so. Your friends can tell you everything that they know is best, but it ultimately comes down to the victim and their own decisions. not that they make the right ones, but they're going to do what they want to do, and they'll believe what they want to believe. they want to believe their SO has their best interest at heart, even though they're completely isolated. it's really a complete mind fuck.

First, missionary dating is a thing. My friends used to jokingly call it flirt to convert. I've actually followed this case a bit with my brother. Fun theory for you that we came up with. So, they keep looking for her body out in Tooele area cause that's where he went camping. But one of the weird things about what went on with him that you guys didn't cover is he disappeared for almost a day when he was supposed to be going in for that police interview like the day after they started investigating he was actually several hours late to that interview and from what I understand his phone pings actually lead towards Idaho on the twin falls side, in a very all over the place round about way. Me and my brother grew up in an area of southern Idaho very near where his pings stopped registering. We are convinced her body is hidden somewhere in the wasteland that covers about 50+ miles around the area we grew up. Near the Sublette area. And as far as I know nobody has suggested searching that area.

Love this podcast! You two did a great job telling this story. If anyone is interested, there is a great podcast called "Cold" that goes into great detail about this case. It's fascinating, heartbreaking, and frustrating (as already witnesses by that incompetent 911 operator). It's a great listen for any crime junkie.
