The 2022 New York City Marathon will be known for its heat and humidity. Runners from around the world descended on NYC expecting typical northeast autumn weather. Instead, they were greeted with near summer conditions. The effect on the field was massive. Despite those nasty conditions, Maria Penner from Winnipeg, Canada negative split her race and finished with the fasted 1.5 miles of her entire race!
