The term "gassing on base" can be used in situations where someone or something has done something of cool swag nature.
Gassing on base derives from the desire to fuel up your car on base when on the island of Guam as the cost of gas is much cheaper than outside of the base.
Everyone wants to gas on base, but not everyone can. Everyone wants to do something of cool swag nature, but not everyone can.
