Love cannot be divorced from God's Word. In John 17, Jesus said that God's Word is Truth. God's Word is not just "a" truth. It is "THE TRUTH". It is impossible to define what love is apart from God's Word. It is the standard by which we measure everything else. If God and His Word are one, and they are. And if Jesus is God's Word made flesh, and He is. And if Jesus is The Truth, and he is. That means we must take any ideology, teaching, saying or belief about love and measure it by God's Word. If Truth (Jesus) isn't in it...It's Not Love.
