Description

Today marks the seventy-fifth anniversary of the start of the Blitz - the German bombing campaign which lasted from Autumn 1940 to Spring 1941.




On the seventh of September 1940 - the Luftwaffe, launched a massive raid on London.




More than 350 bombers flew across the Channel from airfields in France and dropped 300 tonnes of bombs on the docks and streets of the East End.




BBC London 94.9's David Friend has been to visit one of the survivors...
