On May 30 and 31, 2015, the Moscow Institute of Psychoanalysis in cooperation with the Viktor Frankl Institute Vienna, the professional guild of psychologists, and the Austrian Cultural Forum presented an International Conference on Man's Search for Meaning.
One of the key speakers at the conference was Prof. Dr. David Guttmann. David Guttmann, DSW, is the former Dean of the School of Social Work at the University of Haifa, Israel. He is the author of several books on aging and co-editor of several other books on social work. His book entitled Logotherapy for the Helping Professional: Meaningful Social Work was published by Springer in 1996. More recently, he has published an autobiographical book entitled Homecoming, describing his youth in Hungary and the long and painful journey to his new homeland.
David Guttmann is one of the pioneers of logotherapy. He has translated three logotherapy books into Hebrew (along with Dr. Mignon Eisenberg), and has taught logotherapy in many parts of the world in formal courses, seminars, and workshops. He has been engaged in practice, teaching, research, and training in social work, gerontology, and logotherapy for the past three decades.
