(7:50 am) We discuss the removal of certain food ingredients like Red Food Dye #3. A recent study found that the chemical caused cancer in rats, impacting hundreds of items. Keep in mind that it was removed from cosmetics and skin care items some 35 years ago, but the FDA said it's OK to continue to ingest it into our bodies. That makes no sense. It'll take about 3 years for the food dye to be removed from the market. The move comes just ahead of Trump's nominee for Health Secretary, RFK Jr., promising to "Make America Healthy Again." Mike has a libertarian problem with ingredients being removed. Let the market decide, he says, not the government. When it comes to any cancer-causing ingredients, Mike & Stel disagree...it doesn't belong in our food.
