I knew I was pissed off about something, every aspect of the episode that you guys run through or tiptoe through address every issue that I had, so thanks for that. But fuck this show man, its a write off for the rest of the season. I'm guna put all my stock in George R R Martin to finish this off the way it should. what a waste!

I'd recommend to the 2 guys running the podcast that they listen back to this and realise how hypocritical they are. They also appear to have forgotten how to be fans and what GoT is all about. If you're expecting predictable storyline and everything explained then you're watching the wrong show.

Dan Morey You can still be a fan and admit that something sucks at the same time. It was interesting how much they tried to put on the rose colored glasses to discuss an episode that they obviously thought was highly flawed in every way.

I watched it twice on my TV, which is now 5 going on 6 years old. I thought I was seeing everything as intended the 2nd time. I get what they were trying to do in this episode, and I enjoyed it. After seeing complaints online, I adjusted my picture settings to Cinematic and turned off the energy saving modes completely for the 2nd viewing. I was then able top see a little more than I had before. Then, yesterday, I happened across a video posted of the episode in pieces online in 4k video quality it said. Didn't believe it would make any difference, but I decided to watch. I realised I missed a lot from the episode! Not to the point of not understanding, but scenes I didn't see the first two times. I watched on my PC monitor this time. This was in the daytime and with all the blinds open and sun streaming in. I saw parts online that I couldn't see on my TV. So, either I need a better TV (which there are no funds for) or maybe it can be tweaked even more. But I may not need it now though, hopefully the rest of the episodes are not as dark as The Long Night. So now I get why people are complaining. I had no idea.

I've watched the episode twice, both times in a pitch-black room , my living room with a $400 TCL TV, 55 in. not one time did I think the episode was too dark. it's called the long night. The storm obviously takes away what little moonlight there is. We're lucky we could see as much as we could. the atmosphere was excellent, the way they used natural lighting with fire was perfectly executed. The reality is, we as fans have built the show up for eight or nine years just so we can tell the showrunners they've let us down. I know the hype surrounding the show and I think the writing and direction lived up to it and more. George RR Martin has gone on record to say he can barely finish the books because of the pressure from the fans for a perfect ending. Because they're assholes. Fight me.

"Fuck" as an expletive is clearly the top of the heap but I will never get use to the casual use of "fuck" in conversation.

Gordon Muldrow I don't know about other people, but I was looking for a podcast that was focused on the things that we as fans are excited about. Something like Game of Microphones or House Podcastica. I just wanted to let folks know that this one is mostly critical of things they either didn't get or didn't agree with.

on your Gendry comments: Arya asks Gendry how many women before OR after when he was back in Kings Landing. Gendry was getting some tail while hiding out in Kings Landing

The same book that showed Arya's valerian steel dagger that Sam found at the Citadel, has a page that talks about how the Valerians used dragon fire to melt dragon glass into a material that they could use to build large intricate structures without seams. My theory about valerian steel is that dragon fire+ dragon glass+ steel = valerian steel. Maybe its melted and folded into the steel to make it super light weight and sharp. It would explain why it can also kill white walkers.

Scott Bunker In the "Game Revealed" video that HBO posted after the episode one of the producers of the show mentions that It is very possible that the same thing that created the night king is also needed to destroy it or maybe is just Valyrian steel and then he says figure it out for yourself with a smirk in his face. I think it confirms that it is the combination of steel and dragon glass.
