Description

In August of 1976, the bodies of a young man and woman were found in rural Sumter County, South Carolina. Police would infer a lot from their belongings and the state of their bodies, but more than four decades later, their identities - as well as the identity of their killer - remain a mystery... BUT the Crime Junkies have a chance to change that.

Is there a way to test their DNA with 23 & me. I’ve heard of stories of people finding long lost family members and unknown siblings.

why would the killer shoot them in the back, then flip them over and shoot them in the chest? seems weird to me

Tiffani Wunder U dont haaaavvvve to listen to them you know... if you dislike Brit so much why not try a different podcast? Seems like a wasted energy just to comment something negative where you're not forced to listen.

does it matter how jack, jock Jake is pronounced? it's more than likely NOT his name anyway.

fun fact- it is possible for a person to have "tooth growth" that does not match their age. when my brother was 8 years old, our dentist said his teeth would age him around 12 years. anytime I hear a story about someone's dental identification disproving their assumed age I always wonder.

The french pronounciation of Jacques Doe would sound like "jawk" with a soft J...

Get a grip people! Do you know how often I hear US podcast hosts butcher UK place-names? It wouldn't even make me roll my eyes, let alone commenting or boycotting the "offending" podcast.

Elizabeth Pond oh, I'd roll my eyes, but quickly move on. People are way too indignant, especially when they're getting something for free.

I'm Canadian, French Canadian, and my daughter and I had a bit of a giggle over the Ja Queece pronunciation. it is Ja (Soft 'j') acques (rhymes with glock but with the k not being quite as hard as in English.) It's one syllable. still love you guys!

I love the show, but I hate to say this, but I had to stop listening bc Brit is so annoying. It sounds so staged.

Jen Haught That's because it is partially scripted. They have said this in the past because the are in different locations it makes it easier for the editor and to make sure they arent talking over each other. I love Britts added commentary.

Jacques is pronounce jock not Jacquees

Stefanie May when I see jock I automatically think "strap' lol. I know a guy named Jock, pronounced the way Ashley was saying it, and I just avoid saying his name so that I don't picture a jockstrap mid sentence 😲

Stefanie May Unlike most languages ... words in french are not always pronounced as they are spelled ... the French like to complicate things a bit ... lol

Why didn't the police get in touch with Canadian officials about Jacques? According to his physical identity, he was obviously foreign. They could have contacted officials in Montreal.
