A “Dictionary” Edition of RRR # 1,312 September 7, 2025
Description

Welcome to Glenn Robison’s Rapidly Rotating Records, bringing you vintage music to which you can’t not tap your toes, from rapidly rotating 78 RPM records of the 1920s and ’30s.
Do you know who these fellows are? They’re the pioneering western swing band The Light Crust Doughboys and you’ll hear three of their records in the fourth segment of this week’s show. You’ll also find out why they’re called the Light Crust Doughboys. In other segments, you’ll hear about some of the newest words added to the Oxford English Dictionary. We’ll celebrate Fred Duprez’s birthday and visit “The Rock.” To start off the show we’ll have some songs about “man’s best friend.” There’s lots of great music and interesting information so set aside an hour with your favorite beverage and prepare to be transported back to a different–and we think better–musical era. Just click the link above to listen streaming online and/or download for listening at your convenience.
THANKS FOR LISTENING! ENJOY THE SHOW!
