Description

Suffering was a consistent part of the early Christian experience. As James pastored the church in Jerusalem, he watched firsthand the suffering his people walked through on a daily basis. Here in chapter 5, James addresses the suffering, not by affirming them, but by challenging them to remain patient as they wait for the Lord to return. In this passage we find the question for us all to ponder, "is my life going to be characterized by my grumbling, or my praise?
