Ca: Entre les ombres antigues de les ruïnes d’Empúries, un vent fred bufava des del mar proper.
En: Among the ancient shadows of the ruins of Empúries, a cold wind blew from the nearby sea.

Ca: L’Oriol caminava amb cura, amb la bufanda tibada al voltant del coll, mentre contemplava les pedres mil·lenàries.
En: Oriol walked carefully, with his scarf wrapped tightly around his neck, as he contemplated the millennia-old stones.

Ca: Era l’hivern, i l’aire sota el cel gris s'omplia de l'olor de la sal marina.
En: It was winter, and the air under the gray sky was filled with the scent of sea salt.

Ca: Avui, com en altres anys, esperava amb ganes el Nadal.
En: Today, as in other years, he eagerly awaited Christmas.

Ca: Aquest any, però, volia fer un regal especial als seus amics, Montserrat i Guillem.
En: This year, however, he wanted to give a special gift to his friends, Montserrat and Guillem.

Ca: El problema sorgia en un detall que havia oblidat: no havia portat paper per embolicar els regals.
En: The problem arose from a detail he had forgotten: he hadn’t brought wrapping paper for the gifts.

Ca: Mentre pensava en una solució, l’Oriol va veure trossos de terrissa antiga escampats pel terra.
En: While thinking of a solution, Oriol saw pieces of ancient pottery scattered on the ground.

Ca: "Potser...," va murmurar amb un sospir.
En: "Maybe...," he murmured with a sigh.

Ca: Amb cura, va recollir fragments petits i els va guardar a la butxaca.
En: Carefully, he picked up small fragments and put them in his pocket.

Ca: Després, es va endinsar més profundament en les ruïnes i va trobar fulles de parra, encara verdes malgrat el fred, enredades a una paret vella.
En: Then, he wandered deeper into the ruins and found grape leaves, still green despite the cold, tangled around an old wall.

Ca: "Tinc una idea," es va dir, i va començar a treballar.
En: "I have an idea," he told himself, and began to work.

Ca: Va utilitzar la terrissa com a decoració rústica i va embolicar els regals amb les fulles de parra, fixant-les amb fils improvisats de petites branques.
En: He used the pottery as rustic decoration and wrapped the gifts with the grape leaves, fastening them with improvised threads of small branches.

Ca: A poc a poc, els regals van prendre una aparença única, gairebé artística.
En: Slowly, the gifts took on a unique, almost artistic, appearance.

Ca: Per donar el toc final, va escampar una mica de sorra fina sobre les fulles, brillant com petites estrelles de mar a la llum de l’ocàs.
En: To give the final touch, he sprinkled a bit of fine sand over the leaves, shining like tiny sea stars in the sunset light.

Ca: De sobte, va sentir rialles familiars.
En: Suddenly, he heard familiar laughter.

Ca: Montserrat i Guillem arribaven.
En: Montserrat and Guillem were arriving.

Ca: Amb el cor bategant, Oriol amagà les restes dels materials emprats darrere les pedres mentre es posava dret, somrient com si tot estigués perfectament planificat.
En: With his heart racing, Oriol hid the remnants of the materials used behind the stones while he stood up, smiling as if everything had been perfectly planned.

Ca: Quan es van trobar, Montserrat va exclamar admirant les ruïnes, però ràpidament va fixar-se en els regals que Oriol duia al braç.
En: When they met, Montserrat exclaimed admiring the ruins, but quickly noticed the gifts that Oriol carried in his arm.

Ca: "Que bonic! És molt original, Oriol!" va dir en veure el treball manual amb les fulles i la terrissa.
En: "How beautiful! It’s very original, Oriol!" she said, seeing the handmade work with the leaves and the pottery.

Ca: "No hi ha res semblant," va afegir Guillem, mirant de prop el detall dels fragments antics.
En: "There’s nothing like it," added Guillem, closely examining the detail of the ancient fragments.

Ca: Oriol es va ruboritzar, conscient que tot havia sorgit d’un incident gairebé oblidat.
En: Oriol blushed, aware that everything had come from an almost forgotten incident.

Ca: Amb l’elogi dels seus amics, Oriol va somriure, sentint el caliu dins seu.
En: With his friends' praise, Oriol smiled, feeling warmth inside him.

Ca: Havia après que la improvisació, i sobretot la intenció, podien convertir un simple regal en quelcom especial.
En: He had learned that improvisation, and especially the intention, could turn a simple gift into something special.

Ca: Al final del dia, no era la perfecció del paper d'embolicar el que comptava, sinó els records creats junts entre les antigues pedres d'Empúries.
En: At the end of the day, it wasn’t the perfection of the wrapping paper that mattered, but the memories created together among the ancient stones of Empúries.
