Prior to becoming an academic, Dr. Dawson worked at PricewaterhouseCoopers, extensively with the federal government (including the Central Intelligence Agency, Department of Defense (Army, Navy, Air Force, and Marines), the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC), and the Bureau of the Census, among others) and with a variety of state governments (including Virginia, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, New York, and California).
