In this episode, Nadia Piet and Rasa Bocyte share their Three Takeaways on how we talk about AI. Nadia is the founder and creative director of AIxDESIGN, a worldwide community that researches how we can apply AI in a way that benefits people, not profits. That way, she tries to ensure we all understand how AI works and learn to think critically and creatively about AI.

Rasa works at the Dutch Institute for Sound and Vision and leads the research & innovation partnerships. She has a background in Archival & Information Sciences and Art History. Together, Nadia and Rasa worked on Archival Images of AI (Project page: Archival Images of AI). In this project they investigate how we can use existing images from digital heritage collections to create new images about AI.

Nadia & Rasa's Three Takeaways:

1. In mainstream media we are surrounded by images, language and narratives about AI that suck.
2. Don’t believe the hype and don’t leave it up to Elon to determine what role AI has in our society.
3. Use your own imagination when thinking about AI - it's time to make new metaphors, imaginings and tropes.

We recorded this podcast after a Pizza Session where Nadia and Rasa shared their findings. Do you want to join the next Pizza Session? It's free! Check mediacampus.nl.
