Description

We invited Mabu Manaileng to help us navigate the topic of algorithmic bias. Mabu Manaileng is an AI Researcher and a Lead Data Scientist at one of the top three banks in South Africa.

We go into what exactly algorithmic bias is and how it manifests in machine learning processes and ultimately how it affects the users of the resulting technologies and sometimes communities at large.

We dive into how bias sometimes generates profit for companies and how that leads to ethics being abandoned in the machine learning process in the chase for profits.

We would love to hear what you think on the topic so do continue the discussion with us on Twitter using the hashtag #TechUnstackPod.

Let's unstack!

Disclaimer: We are working from home with our families present so if you hear a baby or two in the background, we profusely apologize.
