Since Elon Musk bought Twitter on October 27th, he has fired thousands of employees, loosened moderation rules, and charged $8 for a blue check mark. The fate of the company now seems to be up in the air. To help us understand the chaos, we invited Dr. Robyn Caplan onto the program.
Dr. Robyn Caplan is a Senior Researcher at Data & Society Research Institute and a founding member of the Platform Governance Research Network. Robyn’s research explores the intersection of platform governance and media policy. Her research examines the impact of inter-and-intra-organizational behavior on platform governance and content moderation. Her work has been featured by The Washington Post, The New York Times, and Wired–just to name a few.
