i think youre reading way too much into these little slip ups. ive had several occations where i said the wrong word and i know for a fact it wasnt a "freudian slip" because the word i said had nothing at all to do with anything. sometimes people just make mistakes. you cant assume theyre all subconscious confessions of what they feel deep down.

Martin Z but isnt that the point of this podcast? A research to whether the slips are Freudian or mistakes? And to see whether there's deeper reason as to why the King made so many "mistakes" with his songs which should not be since knowing a song's lyrics and meaning by mind and heart is a singer's job and should perform and deliver well in front an audience?

I have recently discovered this podcast and it has quickly become a favorite if mine. This is a truly amazing episode. I have listened to it five times and I have come away emotionally moved each time. Malcolm has a unique way of making you feel like you are in the room and on the journey with him. This episode is a treasure trove for a music fan.

One of the most heart touching episode. I got goosebumps throughout the podcast. Malcolm Gladwell is the greatest.

Wow. Great episode by ⁦‪⁦‪Gladwell‬⁩. "A lesser person would have played it perfectly." (If you're a ⁦Jack White‬⁩ fan, he has a cameo)

Lovely and lively (that was what I first typed). I feel great empathy towards Elvis although I don't know very much about him or his music. Also loved the music and musicians from thus podcast. Thanks.

I listened to this on a good long walk. I laughed, sang out loud and then sat down on a bench and had a full cry. Hits the full emotionional spectrum and cuts you in just the right way.

country people put down their own pets. It's considered that we owe it to them. I wonder if Elvis was thinking of a dog he had put down. it hurts to shoot a long term pet and then go on with your day. you can't even tell anyone anymore because they call you Hitler. It's kinder especially for cats than a long trip to the vet.

Jerry Stauffer I've used a mobile vet, and that was easier on both of us. But you're right, that's about how we do. Taking them to a strange place full of scary smells and bright lights on their last day is a hell of a lot more cruel.
