This new series of episodes on the Cosmic Dancer podcast channel aims to disseminate the theoretical teachings of Vedanta philosophy (dating back nearly 7,000 years) through the practical experiences of daily life. This is through the involvement of guests from the world of music, art, literature, science, etc...

Vedanta is not a religion. Vedanta is a philosophy, the Mother of all world philosophies and religions. The Bhagavad Gita is the most representative text of Vedanta, one of the most widely read books ever. We celebrate the teachings of the eminent philosopher Swami Parthasarathy (96 years old), who founded the organization Vedanta Global and has authored numerous best sellers, including Vedanta Treatise - The Eternities and the invaluable commentary on the Bhagavad Gita.

Guest: Saritha Shreedaran, Vedanta teacher, disciple of the eminent Vedanta Philosopher Swami Parthasarathy and Co-founder of Mind & Intellect Organization.

Topic: Atma Shatakam, the divine composition of Adi Shankaracharya, is a hymn to the Self, the ultimate reality that pervades everything in the universe. It is a profound expression of the Advaita Vedanta philosophy, which teaches that the Self is not different from the Absolute, the ultimate reality that is beyond all names and forms.
In six short verses, Adi Shankaracharya unveils the nature of the Self, inviting the seeker to turn inward and discover the true nature of their being. He declares, "I am not the mind, nor the intellect, nor the ego, nor the chitta (memory), nor the senses, nor the body. I am not even the five elements that make up the universe. I am the pure consciousness, the witness of all that is."
Through these powerful words, Adi Shankaracharya invites us to let go of our identification with the body and mind, and to realize our true identity as the eternal Self. He reminds us that we are not limited by our physical form, our thoughts, or our emotions, but that we are infinite, timeless, and boundless.
Atma Shatakam is a timeless hymn that continues to inspire seekers on the path of self-realization. It reminds us that the ultimate truth is not something to be found outside of ourselves, but rather something to be realized within. It is an invitation to turn inward and discover the true nature of our being, to awaken to the divinity that is already present within us.
So let us take the words of Adi Shankaracharya to heart, and let them guide us on our journey towards self-realization. Let us remember that we are not separate from the ultimate reality, but rather that we are a manifestation of it. And let us embrace the truth of our own being, that we are infinite, eternal, and divine.
