Update: 2025-12-08
Description
Australias first home-grown combat aircraft in 50 years, the MQ-28A Ghost Bat, is set to revolutionize the Australian Defence Force. With a billion-dollar investment, Boeing Defence Australia will deliver six operational Block Two Ghost Bats, part of a broader ten-billion-dollar drone commitment. The Ghost Bat, a sleek, autonomous loyal wingman, supports over 440 jobs and has contributions from 35 Australian companies. Classified as a Collaborative Combat Aircraft, it can team with crewed aircraft, multiplying combat power. Recently, it completed significant capability demonstrations, including simultaneous control of two aircraft by a single operator, and is set to conduct a live air-to-air missile firing before year-end.
