The Miami Hurricanes have debuted even lower than expected in the debut College Football Playoff rankings for 2025

The Committee has ranked Mario Cristobal’s team 18th despite an identical record and head to head win over 10th ranked Notre Dame. Host Alex Donno reveals that the Hurricanes certainly deserve to be outside the top 12, but their spot at 18 makes it incredibly difficult to have any hope of climbing into the field in early December. 

The ACC is in a very tough spot with nobody ranked inside the top 12. Whoever wins the conference will get an automatic bid, but the suspicion is that the ACC will only be a one bid league.
