Lions get a big win on a big stage
Penn State took out it's loss to Ohio State on Washington, racing out to a 28-0 lead in the first half of the White Out. Quarterback Drew Allar was 14-18 for 140 yards, including 56 yards to wide receiver Trey Wallance.
Tight end Tyler Warren wasn't invisible at the goal line this time; the 260-pound tight end went vertical from the three-yard line to score a touchdown and added another second in the first half.
The scoring slowed down in the second half, with a fumble from Warren on a promising drive to start the third quarter. That led to a field goal from Washington, who benched starter Will Rogers at halftime in favor of the more mobile backup Demond Williams Jr. While Williams Jr. did give the Huskies more breathing room in the run game, he was sacked multiple times in the second half, leading to only six points before Penn State ended the game with a scoring drive in the fourth quarter.
Penn State defensive end Abdul Carter was the player of the night on defense, finally getting his breakout game. He had four tackles for loss and two sacks, plus a forced fumble.
Next up for Penn State and postgame coverage
Penn State is now 8-1 on the season after the win, with a road trip to West Lafayette to face Purdue next weekend. Ohio State blew out the Boilermakers on Saturday afternoon, with Purdue falling 45-0 to fall to 1-8 on the season. The Nittany Lions will be the favorite in all of its final three games of the regular season.
