Bill Belichick, once a powerhouse duo with Patriots owner Robert Kraft, now faces a public dispute. Their historic partnership ended in January 2024, with Belichick leaving by mutual decision. Belichick and his girlfriend attempted to trademark his catchphrases, but the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office sided with Kraft, rejecting four of Belichicks proposed trademarks. Belichick has moved on to coaching the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hills Tar Heels football team, amidst ongoing legal and public disagreements with Kraft.
