Born in Pennsylvania, Billy Porter was always destined for greatness. In 1992 he won the TV show Star Search, scooping the $100,000 prize ahead of a very young Britney Spears. He took his talent to Broadway and in 2013 won a Tony Award for his portrayal of Lola in Kinky Boots. In 2018, Billy played Pray Tell in the BBC2 series Pose, a role that earned him critical acclaim and a Primetime Emmy Award. He released his memoir, Unprotected, in 2021. Billy Porter is currently starring in Cabaret at the Kit Kat Club in London, alongside Marisha Wallace as Sally Bowles.
