Bisexuality Surge Among Gen Z, Especially Women
Update: 2025-12-09
Description
New ONS data reveals a fourfold increase in bisexuality among Gen Z, with 4.1% now identifying as such. This surge is particularly notable among women, with 5.5% now identifying as bisexual. The data also shows a shift in younger generations, with 8% of 16-24-year-olds identifying as LGB, compared to 1.2% of those aged 65 and over. The fastest growth is among 25-34-year-olds, with 6.4% now identifying as LGB. Meanwhile, more men in the under 35 age bracket are identifying as gay, while women are more likely to identify as bisexual. This trend is attributed to a cohort effect and increasing social acceptance.
