Description
Boeing reacquires Spirit AeroSystems in a $4.7 billion deal, aiming to regain control over wing and fuselage production. Airbus also acquires certain Spirit operations, while Spirits Malaysian and Fiber Materials units are sold to other companies. The acquisition aims to address supply chain issues, following delays in Boeings 737 MAX and Airbuss A350 and A220 programs. The FTC approved the deal with conditions to prevent Boeing from gaining excessive influence over competition.
