Active for more than thirty years with his quartet, Branford Marsalis remains a figure of excellence in jazz. He has played with Art Blakey and the Jazz Messengers, Miles Davis, Lionel Hampton, Herbie Hancock and even with Sting for over 10 years. A master of the saxophone, he also devotes himself to classical music and performs regularly with major orchestras in the United States and Europe. He talks to us today about the sound of John Coltrane, Dexter Gordon's rhythmic placement, some memories with Art Blakey and Benny Golson, and his passionate discussions with his father, pianist Ellis Marsalis...
