Broadway Star Stages Own 2nd Act, Becomes New Thought Minister, with Dr. James Mellon, EP16
In this episode, I talk with Dr. James Mellon, whose unique journey took him from the lights of Broadway stardom to become the founding director of his own spiritual center in Los Angeles.
Dr. James grew up in a Catholic, blue-collar Philadelphia family. He followed his passion for performing to become a star on Broadway in shows like 42nd Street and West Side Story. But after attending a new thought lecture one evening, a new world opened to him, and eventually he became a minister and started his own church.
This episode is for anyone looking for inspiration on how to make a bold change, even when it’s uncomfortable, and to do it in a way that leaves you fulfilled.

Dr. James Mellon received his Doctorate of Consciousness Studies from the Emerson Theological Institute in Northern California and is an ordained minister of Centers For Spiritual Living, a teaching that sees the Good/God in everyone and honors all walks of life that support and foster Love. He lives in Los Angeles, where he is the Founding Pastor of the Global Truth Center, a non-denominational Center whose vision statement is “Love Only - Forgive Everything - Remember Who You Are!”
It is no surprise that prior to becoming a minister, Dr. James had a successful career in the entertainment industry which included Broadway, television, music and film. He played Riff in the Jerome Robbins revival of “West Side Story” and toured the country as Jesus in “Jesus Christ Superstar” before turning his attention to directing and writing. He has written for television and film and has had three original musicals published for which he has written the book, music and lyrics. His first book, “Mental Muscle, 16-Weeks of Spiritual Boot Camp,” has gone through three printings and is being used by many Centers and for workshops around the world.
