Description
C.J. Alexanders Brief Stint with the As: A Rookies JourneyC.J. Alexander, a rookie corner infielder, had a brief yet eventful tenure with the Oakland As in 2025. Originally drafted by the Braves in 2018 and traded to the Royals in 2022, Alexander made his major league debut with Kansas City in June 2024, hitting one hit in four games before being sent back to the minors. The As claimed him off waivers later that year, and he spent the end of 2024 in their Triple-A team, hitting three home runs in twelve games. In 2025, Alexander started in Triple-A Las Vegas, performing well with ten home runs in forty-two games. He got his chance with the big league club in mid-May when a veteran third baseman went on the injured list. However, his time with the As was short-lived. In just two weeks, he managed only three singles in seventeen at-bats, striking out eight times. The As designated him for assignment, and he was claimed by the Yankees, then later by the Dodgers, spending the rest of the year in their minor league system. Now a free agent, Alexander, turning twenty-nine next season, is likely to sign a minor league contract. With only twenty-five career big league at-bats, hes still seeking a consistent opportunity, but its unlikely to be with the As again.
