Primus - Drummer Tim Alexander quits the band. This is not the first time, first in 96, then again in 2010. The band was informed via email 2 weeks-ish ago on the 17th. Going forward at this point they will utilize members from Claypool’s other projects in Holy Mackerel and Frog Brigade. Alexander cites a lack of passion for playing music…
Upon a Burning Body - canceled the rest of their tour with Mushroomhead, including a solo headlining show in Kentucky on Oct 27. It seems their guitar player had a family emergency.

Instagram - Video quality is being decreased on less popular videos. If your video doesn’t reach a certain popularity over a given amount of time, then it will stream at a lower quality than you uploaded. If it should pick up in popularity, the quality will be returned.
Valve - in a rare show of understanding. Valve has announced that they will NOT be releasing yearly iterations of their hardware, to be fair to gamers. In an interview Valve designers Lawrence Yang and Yazan Aldehayyat, said that they will instead wait for a “generation leap” before releasing new hardware.

Alien: Romulus - a prequel book to the moderate hit movie is on its way from 20th Century Studios and Marvel. (W) Zac Thompson and (A)Daniel Picciotto are the creative team collaborating with movie director Fede Alvarez and co-writer Rodo Sayagues for the story.
The Rise of Hellfire - Stranger Things prequel mini-series from Dark Horse. (W)Jody Houser (Stranger Things: Tales From Hawkins) Eric Campbell (Dungeons & Dragons Worlds and Realms) (A) Diego Galindo (Stranger Things and Dungeons & Dragons) (C) Diana Sousa (Critical Role: Vox Machina Origins) (L) Nate Piekos, will be a Dungeons and Dragons tie in book. Trick ‘r Treat: Witching Hours - A sequel of sorts to the cult classic film. Anthological in nature, like the film, Michael Doughtery has teamed with comic book creators for more stories set in the world established in the movie. The kickstarter is running now, and the book is expected to be released next october.
