Jon has been winning races since the late 90’s and is still at the top of his game.  The Giant backed rider from Australia rode the event in 2019 winning the shoot out the day prior to sit on pole position for the main event.   During the race was stung by a bee and dropped back from the lead but was able to claw his way back up the field to finish inside the top 10.

Jon is looking to be the first international ride to win the Whaka 100 title.

Kate is a phenomenal athlete who has been to the olympics for Triathlon and represented NZ in 3 commonwealth games in 3 different sports.  In recent years she has got stuck into her mountain biking and won last year's Whaka 100 in her first attempt.  This year she is looking to come back to defend her title and join a very select group who has won the event twice.
