Maryland - 1989, a police patrol pulls a car over. Inside it, are 2 young men risking a 40-year prison sentence for some very nasty business. One of them is a young rapper called Shawn Carter, the other, Calvin Bacote, a big shot from Brooklyn who decides to take the blame for the whole mess.
