Can MPs prevent a 'no deal' departure from the EU?

..... Not unless they are willing to bring down the government.
Forget the kerfuffle about Commons chicanery. The only way that MPs can prevent a determined Prime Minister getting us out of the EU at the end of October is if they are prepared to vote against the government in a confidence motion.
Even then, it is highly likely that an ensuring election would happen only after we had left the EU.
