Bryan Caplan, Ph.D., is a Senior Research Fellow at the Mercatus Center and a Professor of Economics at George Mason University. He specializes in public economics, public choice theory, psychology in economics, and the economics of the family. Caplan's book, The Myth of the Rational Voter: Why Democracies Choose Bad Policies, was named the best political book of the year (2007) by the New York Times. In his new work, Open Borders: The Science and Ethics of Immigration, Caplan makes a bold case for unrestricted immigration.
