This interactive speaker panel informs participants about career possibilities within highly effective non-profits and effective altruism more broadly. The panelists engaged in a conversation with each other and the audience (through audience-submitted questions) on topics ranging from their pivotal college experiences to a day on the job to what roles need to be filled in the fields of global health and development.

Kuhan Jeyapragasan: Kuhan graduated from Stanford with a bachelor's and a master's in CS (AI track) from Stanford in 2020. Since then, Kuhan has been working with the Stanford Existential Risks Initiative as a Director of Strategy and Operations, where he is responsible for growth strategy, outreach to students and faculty, and collaborations with other organizations in the field. Kuhan is also a recipient of the Community Building Grant from the Centre for Effective Altruism, with objectives to educate and enable Stanford students to land high-impact careers, donate more and more effectively, and engage in effective advocacy about the world's most pressing issues.

 

Kennan McClung: Kennan has been involved in One for the World since he was a student at Columbia University, serving as the vice president of the Columbia chapter and a Top Picks Selection Committee Member for the non-profit organization. After graduating in 2019 with a bachelor's degree in Political Science, Kennan went on to become the Director of Growth and Development at One for the World.

 

Gabriela Quintana: Gaby graduated from Stanford in 2014 with bachelor's degrees in Art History and English. Two themes throughout her career have been creating meaningful and long-lasting positive change and empowering vulnerable communities. Gaby is now an Operations Associate at GiveWell, the charity evaluator that One for the World partners with to determine the OFTW charity portfolio. She believes that through teamwork and data-driven analysis, we can create progress that moves marginalized communities in the direction of greater freedom, independence, and agency.
