Description

It was around 2:30 am on Sunday, December 18 1994, when a group of friends stumbled across the bloody and brutalised body of a young woman, lying in the middle of a road in Gqeberha, South Africa. She was the latest victim of Frans Du Toit and Theuns Kruger; two men who the press would come to dub The Noordhoek ‘Ripper Rapists’.

Allison spoke at our University years ago. She is a huge inspiration and her survival story truly touched everyone that attended that day

People sentenced to life in prison for violent crimes such as rape, murder or attempted murder should never get parole even if the sentencing laws are changed. Stop making the new laws retroactive to a certain date.

FINALLY someone covered this story. I've never heard another podcast do it, so years ago I chose Alison's story as my first for a podcast I started with friends. It fizzled out and we only released 3 episodes. I am so glad to see it covered by such a prestigious true crime show.

I often wonder if the anonymous host or the people who write these episodes become disillusioned with humanity. This episode was very disturbing- I can't believe this young woman survived such a brutal and horrific attack. It makes me soul sick when I listen to these crime episodes where time and time again young women are the victims of depraved, evil men who often have extensive criminal records but have been released by some failure in the justice system or by a misogynist judge. Sad world.
