A lack of affordable housing, the effects of the ongoing pandemic, rent stabilization initiatives in Minneapolis and St. Paul, inflation and supply chain issues are just some of the challenges facing Minnesota renters and home owners. Senator Rich Draheim, R-Madison Lake, chair of the Senate Housing Committee, and Senator Kari Dziedzic, DFL-Minneapolis, minority lead of the Housing Committee, join moderator Shannon Loehrke to talk about the challenges impacting access to affordable housing.
Also in the program, Governor Tim Walz and Lt. Governor Peggy Flanagan unveil their $2.7 billion bonding proposal which includes investments in affordable housing and a look at the history of gubernatorial portraiture on display in the Minnesota State Capitol.
