Checkin' Labels
Update: 2020-02-29
Description
Being labeled is similar to being assigned a role. Perceptions from society, family, and strangers often help in placing a role on a person. Nobody likes being labeled and being referred by a single name, but today it is so common, especially among the black woman. This episode will discuss some of the labels given to black women while checking them at the same time. A special guest, Bianca Mattison-Amos, from Once Broken Podcast, will be talking with Quila Boyd about the roles assigned to black women and how they do not tolerate the labels but instead, walk in their truth.
